The Federal Public Defender represents clients in the United States District Court for the Western District of Arkansas and the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit. We are funded by the Criminal Justice Act and are dedicated to providing experienced legal representation to indigent persons accused of federal crimes.
We represent someone when the Federal District Court appoints us to do so. We are only allowed to work for you in defense of your federal criminal case. We do not prosecute or file charges against anyone, represent individuals in state court, handle civil matters, or file grievances or complaints against other people or government agencies. We represent clients from 34 counties in the Western District of Arkansas in 6 Federal Courthouses. Our office hours are Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. We are closed on all federal holidays.
